After succeeding at a number of positions within association publishing, including copy editor, circulation director, production director and managing editor, it was Sue's foray over to the dark side -- advertising sales -- that convinced her she'd found her passion. Having worked with both in-house sales departments and ad rep firms, she felt there had to be a more thoughtful, more efficient approach to managing what is often a crucial revenue source for associations. As an early adopter of technology and data mining, Sue was able to combine a numbers mindset, a unique understanding of editorial & production, training and management experience, and a flair for sales into a formula that consistently generates the kind of revenues publishers can depend on.
In a career spanning more than 25 years, Sue has handled ad sales for over 17 different association, nonprofit, and special interest publications, including new launches, repositioning, and crisis/interim sales. In addition to print magazines and journals, Sue has sold online advertising, annual and special editions, membership directories, yellow pages, and more. Sue has conducted focus groups, written and developed media kits and promotional materials, trained both editors and sales reps, and consulted on a variety of projects. She has taught workshops and written articles on ad sales and print production for association professionals.
Prior to joining the association publishing industry, Sue was a management consultant for medical and legal practices. She has a Bachelors degree in English.
Jill Lenahan Ad Sales Associate
Jill has been the nerve center of Partyke Communications since 2007. She cut her 'professional' teeth working for the publishing department at Brown University. After several years spent raising and chasing after two active sons, Jill was happy to get back to the relative quiet of a crazed ad sales office! Jill works on every aspect of advertising admin, including media kits, contracts, deadlines, ad trafficking, and invoicing. Jill has a Masters degree in history.
Cindy Meek Sales/Research Associate

Now back in California, Cindy handles ad sales research for Partyke Communications, and does part time ad sales. Cindy has sold advertising for OPASTCO Roundtable magazine, as well as for magazines in the fields of clinical psychology, horticulture, and business forms.
